Used 5th gear that has been repaired / welded (some of these are splined, some are not) by a highly respected Roadster transmission expert. They have attached a description of the gear condition so you know what to expect rather than just getting a welded gear with no information provided other than it has been repaired and honed! Please note that there is an additional core charge of $ 180.00 (not an outrageous $ 300.00 like some vendors!). To receive a complete refund of the core charge, your used gear shouldn’t have any broken teeth or other damage that renders it unable to be “reconditioned / repaired”; once we hear back from the transmission shop, the gear is / was able to be “repaired”, the core charge or a partial amount is refunded (depending on the condition of the core). Please note that this may take a bit of time to get a response from the shop depending on their workload.
