Soft top / tonneau fastener, also known as a “twistie”. The top, tonneau or soft top boot fits over the “postie” which mounts through the car body; you then twist the “twistie” to keep the top, tonneau or boot in place.

The soft top uses 6 of these; the tonneau uses an additional 4 which are dash mounted (and usually painted flat black) and the boot uses the soft top 6 plus an additional 3 that mount through the vertical wall between the passenger compartment and trunk. Nissan.
