Alternative, more economical water pump with stamped impeller for the 63 – 67.5 310 and 311 model roadster with either the G15 or R16 engine. Aftermarket.

The pump shaft on this pump will extend through the fan so if your fan does not already have a hole for the shaft, you will need to drill one for the pump shaft to pass through for this pump to work on your roadster. Also, please be aware that when used on the early cars (310’s and some early SP / SPL311’s), you may need to replace the bottom stud with a longer stud / bolt as this housing is a bit thicker than some of the original pumps.

Some “self-proclaimed water pump expert” warns against stamped impellers but when Aisin in Japan, one of the largest OEM water pump suppliers in the world, produces water pumps with stamped impellers and with cast impellers, I trust them to know what they’re doing more than this so called “expert”. Even the Nissan factory water pump for the Skyline GTR has, you guessed it, a stamped steel impeller.

Keeping the proper ratio of coolant (which you should be doing anyways) will minimize the risk of rust in your coolant system.
