Description

Fuel pump rebuild kit that includes the following parts that typically wear out; pump diaphragm, pump diaphragm oil seal, and mounting spacer with gaskets preattached. Correct for some (and from our observations, most) Datsun Roadster original Kyosan Denki fuel pumps (the type that have the “T” post rather than the ball / socket type (which usually aren’t rebuildable)).

Please note that a mounting spacer must be used when reinstalling the pump to prevent pump arm overtravel; failure to do so usually results in the fuel pump being destroyed! The diaphragm is removed by separating the lower half of the pump after removing the lower body screws. Rotate the diaphragm 90 degrees to release it from the arm forks; reinstallation is just the reverse. The approx. dimensions of this diaphragm are as follows: OD of the rubber – 3 1/4″, center pin to center of perimeter hole – 1 7/16″, center of perimeter hole to center of adjacent perimeter hole – 1 7/16″..
